Homes, Done Right.
Heritage strips, knockdown rebuilds, partial demos, and full clearances. Homes from inner-suburb terraces to outer-Melbourne lots.
A selection of recent residential demolition jobs across Melbourne. Every project is its own job — different challenges, different time frames, different requirements. Here’s how we handled each one.
Heritage Tudor Strip-Down
Hawthorn, VICThe brief: strip-down of a 1930s heritage Tudor in the Glenferrie heritage precinct. Demolish all rear additions, the external garage, and prepare the block for a sympathetic rebuild — while leaving the original front facade, slate roof, and street-facing brickwork completely untouched. The challenge: council compliance required a temporary structural support frame across the retained sections during rear removal. We worked closely with the heritage architect to document existing finishes before any work began, and progressed back-to-front so the facade stayed supported throughout. Site handed back clean and rebuild-ready, facade intact.

Single-Storey Brick Demolition
Brunswick, VICThe brief: full demolition of a 1960s single-storey brick veneer home on a narrow Brunswick lot. Total frontage was just 9 metres with a 1.2-metre side passage as the only access point — no driveway, no rear lane. The challenge: we staged the works around a daily truck rotation and used a 2.5-tonne mini excavator for the boundary work. Asbestos-bonded eaves were identified during the pre-demo survey and removed under Class B protocols before the main works began. Adjacent properties on both sides remained occupied throughout — no complaints, no incidents.

Edwardian Knockdown Rebuild
Camberwell, VICThe brief: full knockdown of a 1920s Edwardian weatherboard cottage with significant asbestos throughout — fibro sheeting in the bathroom, eaves, and the rear sleepout. Site cleared and levelled ready for the rebuild crew. The challenge: two protected mature elms on the boundary that the client wanted retained. We coordinated tree protection zones with the council arborist before any heavy machinery moved. Class A asbestos removal handled in-house with a licensed assessor and proper containment. Full slab break-up and removal completed, site levelled to engineer’s specification ready for slab pour.
